Joan Corriher

Joan McConeghy Corriher, 83 of China Grove, passed away Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023 at her home. Born Sept. 26, 1939 in Philadelphia, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Mabel Abell McConeghy and Joseph McConeghy. Mrs. Corriher attended Montgomery County schools in Pennsylvania and was a graduate of Radnor High School in Radnor, Pa. She was a member of Mt. Zion UCC in China Grove, and most recently a member of Shiloh Reformed Church in Faith, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the women's guild and the church choir. She enjoyed spending time at The Spinning Moores Square Dance Club and the Pilot Club of China Grove and Landis. She served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels of Rowan County, Main Street Mission in China Grove, and Knollwood and China Grove Elementary schools. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 61 years, Nelson Clark Corriher; daughters, Michelle Hunter (Robert) of China Grove, Daneen White (Donnie) of China Grove; sister, Claire Howell (Spencer) of Philadelphia, Pa.; grandchildren, Brent Hunter (Jennifer), Todd Hunter (Rachel), Keith Hunter (Emma), Holden White (Kalli), and Haley Karriker (Tyler); and great-grandchildren, Easton White, Baylor Karriker, Hadley Hunter, Gage Hunter, and Mila White. Arrangements: Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 20, at Shiloh Reformed Church. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m., in Shiloh Reformed Church with Pastor Richard Myers officiating. Inurnment will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 24, at the US National Cemetery, Statesville Blvd location. Memorials: Memorials may be sent in Joan's memory to any of her favorite charities, or a deserving charity of your choosing, including, Meals on Wheels of Rowan County, Pilot Club of China Grove/Landis, Shiloh Reformed Church, Mt.
