SALISBURY - Lucille Thelma Nesbitt, 95, of Salisbury, died Sunday, July 10, 2011, at Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks.

Born Jan. 10, 1916, in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late Amanda Whitley Nesbitt and William Barber Nesbitt.

Educated in Rowan County schools, she was a 1937 graduate of China Grove High School and Salisbury Business College.

Miss Nesbitt was employed by Cannon Mills Company as timekeeper, for over 40 years.

She was a member of Coburn Memorial United Methodist Church and Circle No. 1. Most important to her throughout her life were her family and her church.

A very independent person, she lived her life the best way she knew how. She was well-loved and cared for while living at The Lutheran Home.

Mr. Joe Saleeby was her very special friend, and they spent many happy hours together enjoying each other's company.

Preceding her in death were brothers Linn, Fred, Ralph, Dwight and Curl Nesbitt; and sisters Evelyn Smith and Margaret Seaford.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.

Visitation and Service: Visitation is 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, July 13 at Lyerly Funeral Home. The service will begin at 1 p.m. in James C. Lyerly Chapel with Rev. Gene Bruce officiating. Burial following at Carolina Memorial Park in Concord.
