Rev. Marvin Lyles Sr.

ROCKWELL - Rev. Marvin Eugene Lyles Sr., 66, of Rockwell, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015. Death was unexpected.

He was born May 10, 1948 in Cabarrus County to the late Herman and Lucille James Lyles. He was known for his artistic ability and he loved to work in his garden. He had worked at Linn Mills as a lead tech. His love for God was first in his life and family and fishing were the next most important to him.

Survivors include his wife Brenda Wyatt Lyles, of the home; one son, Marvin Eugene Lyles Jr. (Marty) and wife Miranda, of Rockwell; two daughters, Wendy Lyles McFee and husband Scott, of China Grove and Lisa Lyles Hubbard and husband Phillip, of Denver; two brothers, George Lee Lyles and wife Pam, of Charlotte and David Franklin Lyles and wife Pat, of China Grove; three sisters, Brenda Lyles Faires, Mary Bell Tarlton and husband Ernie, of Granite Quarry and Deloris Gambrell and husband Robert, of Salisbury; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation and Services: A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Benny Burgess and Rev. John Tennent officiating. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at Whitley's Funeral Home.
