William Calvin Agnew

SALISBURY - William Calvin Agnew, Jr., 63, of 732 Pinehurst St., Salisbury, died Thursday at Rowan Regional Medical Ct., after being seriously ill for 3 months.

He was born Nov. 16, 1943 in Salisbury to the late William C. "Pete" and Virginia Caldwell Agnew, Sr. He was a graduate of J. C. Price High School and attended North Carolina Central University. He retired from Magnolia Gardens Nursing Ct., and had previously worked at the V. A. Medical Center. He was a member of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church and J. C. Price American Legion Post #107. Survivors include sons, Terry Luther of Asheville, and Timothy McCorkle, Dallas, Tex.; brothers, Ronald Lee Agnew (Virginia), Salisbury, and Rufus Agnew (Barbara), Pennfield, N.Y.; sisters, Brenda A. Williams (Eldridge), Salisbury, and Helen A. Oglesby of the home.

Service: Thursday at the A. R. Kelsey Memorial Chapel at Noble & Kelsey Funeral Home, Inc. visitation will be at 12:30 p.m. with the Reverend John Leazer officiating. Burial will be in the U. S. National Cemetery, Salisbury with military rites by the Salisbury Rowan Honor Guard.
