Elizabeth Crandall Obituary

Elizabeth Evans Crandall 1918 ~ 2003  Elizabeth (Beth) Evans Crandall, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother and teacher, passed away on November 21, 2003, at home with her family around her.  Beth, a daughter of David J. and Mary Elizabeth Rowe Evans, was born October 18, 1918 in Spanish Fork, Utah. She married Lowell W. Crandall on June 16, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple and together they were blessed with four wonderful children. As a graduate of Brigham Young University with a BA degree in Drama, English and French, Beth taught school for 24 years. She taught in Spanish Fork and Springville before her marriage and in Bountiful, at Viewmont High School, after all her children were in school. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Beth served in many callings throughout her life. Together, Beth and Lowell served a two year extraction mission, an 18 month mission to the Ile de Mauritius (Indian Ocean) and Washington Temple, and eight years as ordinance workers in the Salt Lake Temple.  She will be remembered as a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who loved the scriptures and her Savior. She also enjoyed her rose garden, BYU sports, great literature and theater, dear friends and students and especially her family. Beth is survived by her four children, William and Jayne Rice, Jr., Bishop David and Julie Crandall, Dr. Steven and Therese Heath and Bishop David and Mary Lynne Zimmerman and her precious grandchildren: Rebekah and Jordan Rice, Michael (Shannon), Melanie and Elizabeth Crandall, Hilary, Joseph and Rachel Heath and Zachary and Matthew Zimmerman.  Beth was preceded in death by Lowell,  her loving and devoted husband of 55 years. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bountiful 27th Ward Chapel, 1145 N. 200 E., Bountiful.  Friends and family may call Monday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful and prior to services from 9:45 -10:45, at the church.  Interment at the Spanish Fork Cemetery. A special thanks to Dr. Eisenbraun, her other doctors and Rocky Mountain Hospice for their wonderful care and concern. Online guest book and direction map at www.russonmortuary.com.

Thank you for being such a wonderful English Teacher. You taught me so much, not just for your kindness as a teacher but I gained a thirst for literature because of your dedication as a teacher.
