Evelyn C. George

Evelyn C. George "1912 ~ 2004"  Evelyn Cowles Carter George 91, passed away Friday April 2nd 2004 at her daughters home in Salt Lake City, UT.  Evelyn was Born November 6th, 1912, Escalante, UT. Evelyn was born the daughter of Henry Newell Cowles and Louisa Elizabeth Wilcox. She married Spencer William Carter Sept 25th 1934. He preceded her in death in May of 1964. She married William Homer George in November 8, 1979 in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death July 20, 1993. Evelyn was an active member of the LDS Church. She held many church positions. She was a temple worker at the Salt Lake Temple, was a member of the DUP and the BPW. Evelyn served two missions with her wonderful husband Homer George: 1) Mission in Tulsa OK; 2) Leadership Mission in Salt Lake City UT. Survived by daughter, LaNia Skola Salt Lake City, UT and grandsons Bob, Dave, Gene and Ken (Bolinder); son, William Carter Salt Lake City, UT and grandson Robby Carter; other grandchildren KC Carter and Sara Ann Carter Everill. Also survived by loving step-children: Marilyn (Merlin) Gardiner, Bountiful, UT; Carolyn (Paul) Wood, Farmington, UT; Sue Ann (Douglas) Cook, Mesa, AZ; W. Bryan (Brenda) George, Valencia, CA; Richard George, Anchorage, AK; Evelyn is survived by a total of 25 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: son, Conrad Carter, granddaughters Corrine Carter Garrett and Sherrie Lynn Bolinder; son-in-law, Dan A Bolinder. Services will be held Monday April 5, 2004, 12:00 noon at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 10600 South 1950 East. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple and one hour prior to the services in Sandy. Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
