Geoffrey Noyes Obituary

Geoffrey W. Noyes of Bellevue died of cancer on March 1, 2005, in Kirkland at Evergreen Hospice. He was 62. Born July 1, 1942, in Seattle, WA, he graduated from Renton High School in 1960 and from the University of Washington in 1965. During his university years, he was a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He served a tour of duty in the Army upon completion of his education. Mr. Noyes was employed as a Technical Systems Analyst at Unigard Insurance Company from 1970 until his recent retirement in late 2004. He had many interests. He was an avid golfer, collector of silver age comic books, and enthusiastic traveler. He enjoyed rock hounding and was the past president of the North Seattle Lapidary and Mineral Club. He also belonged to The Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal. Mr. Noyes is survived by his wife, Barbara Noyes, of Bellevue; sons James Noyes and Samuel Noyes of Seattle; mother Geraldine Noyes, of Mercer Island; brother, Jay Noyes, of Tukwila; sister, Marcie Wishart, of Lynnwood; and grandson, Corey Noyes, of Seattle. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, at the Mercer Island Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the North Seattle Lapidary and Mineral Club, 7719 18th Ave NW, Seattle, WA 98117-5432 or to Hospice at Evergreen Foundation, 12910 Totem Lake Blvd N.E., Suite 300, Kirkland, WA 98034.
