I know that I am very late in writing my entry, however, I only became aware of Jack's passing yesterday when my brother Len happened to mention it to me. I knew Jack back in the early 90's when I was living and working in Salt Lake City. He was a fun loving soul, he taught me to golf and got me my first set of clubs, I taught him about rafting in Idaho, and we picked out Bogey together. I had the pleasure of knowing Jesse and the rest of Jack's family, they always made me feel welcome even though I was the cheesehead or cheese whiz as Jack would call me.
It was great to hear that Jack remained involved and engaged in the last sixteen years since I had seen him last, all of the wonderful entries spoke of an honorable man.
My deepest condolences to your family.

I was Jacks dog groomer when he had Boogie and I could tell from the way that he took care of his dog in his old age, he was a very sensitive and caring person. He was always a pleasure when he came in, he gave us some salmon, showed us hunting pictures, and always talked about his son. He would always wave when he drove by on his Harley. The girls at the Dog Stop miss him and we are sorry for your loss. He will be reunited with his old friend Boogie.

Our deepest sympothy to the entire Holt family.
Jack always was a welcome visitor to our company when he stopped in to pick up products for his employer. Everyone in our office was shocked and saddened by the news of his untimely death.
We will keep you all in our prayers and please know that Jack was truly a pleasure to be around.
We will miss him.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Jack. I hired into Hercules with Jack and spent some time working with him, before transferring to fibers. Jack and I would occasionally run into each other at the Hercules CU or when Jack was making a pick-up from Plant 3, he would stop by for a visit. During recent visits, Jack and I would talk Harleys and how there was nothing like riding a Harley.
My deepest sympathy, thoughts, and prayers are with Jack's family at this time.

Jack,
Even though we have lost touch these past few years I think of you often. I will never forget the day we met...do you remember? It was on a bowling league many years ago, out of the bule you walked up and ask, whare did you get those boots? It's seemed weird to me at the time but after getting to know you I realized it was just who you were. You always had a gift of making a total stranger feel like an instant friend. Please forgive me for not being there to help sent you off, but remember when we meet again I will be expecting you to show me all the good hunting spots.
A friend forever, Tim McIntyre

I am so sorry for your loss. Hearing of the news made me think of how i would feel in the same situation of losing my own father, I cant imagine how you feel right now. Although i only met your father a few times, I know just from my association with you that he was someone that you admired and adored. I know your father is not with you physically, but he is still with you and, some day you will be reunited with him. You are a good friend, and although this time is hard, i know that you will pass through this trial because of your character.

Jesse,
I just found out last night of the passing of your father. There are no words that can make the hurt go away but I can tell you that your father was one incredible guy and I will miss him very much. There are few people in this world that can make such an impact on so many people’s lives but your dad was one of them. I only knew your dad for a few years but we had a very close relationship from the first time we met. Jack spoke of you often and would just glow with pride. I know he loved you very much and be assured he will watch over you.
Donnette and family,
I’m deeply sorry for your loss. It was an honor to know Jack and I will miss him very much.
Jack,
I will miss our conversations at Clearfield. We talked about riding together this summer, families and just crazy stuff that I think only you and I would understand. You made everybody a better person, including me. I will miss you very much. I wasn’t done being your friend.

Jack was a dear friend whom I met through my sister-in-law in the late 80's. We had many great times together golfing, pheasant hunting and laughing! I remember the many golf tournaments that Jack put together especially at Mount Ogden.

Jack, What is up DOG!!!
I sure wish I would have know you were not going to make it to the 19th hole, I would have bought you two margaritas, and yes I still would have teased you about not getting a beer.
I got a phone call this morning at 6:40 and it really startled me and saddened me knowing it would not be you. Out of all the phone calls over the years my last one with you I cut short because I let work get in my way, I said I would call you back, but I did not get the time, I thought, I will talk to him Monday!!!.
I will miss, truckers lounge, you harassing the ladies at school lunch, trips to Adidas, the shorts with the smock, the country club, the scoop on plant 1 and most of all your smile when you knew we were getting you a bunch of chrome for the Harley.
You do not realize what you have until it is gone.
I miss you, Rob ,

My husband (Bruce) and I grew up with Jack. He was a great friend and had contagious smile. I lost Bruce and my son in an accident and know the pain when someone is taken from you early. If you should need someone to talk to feel free to call. When I last spoke to Jack his contagious smile and twinkle in his eyes were of how lucky he was to have such a wonderful son. It brought tears to my eyes. I'm so sorry for your lost. Sincerely, Laurie

I was so shocked to get the message about the passing of your father. It is hard to find words of condolence appropriate for the loss you must be feeling. I wish that I could be there and give you a hug. May God be with you at this time. I know how much you loved your father and can not imagine the loss you are feeling. If I can help in any way, please give me a call.

We loved sharing time with Jack and Donnette. He was always excited by the next challenge that was around the corner and how quick could he get there to find it. We loved his laughing and joking. He was probably a handful when he was a youth. Some never grow up and loose their excitement for what's ahead.
He knew a lot of things and a lot of people but wasn't boastful of these things. He was, however, boastful about his son, Jesse. Jesse, he was very proud of you and your potential. Carry on with your dreams, for that is one of the things that made him the happiest.
The pleasant memories of him and his impact on your life will carry you through to brighter days. He never lost his exuberance for life.
Jack, THANK YOU for blessing our lives with your presence. You were a bright spot in our lives; we were privileged to have crossed paths with you.

Jesse,
My thoughts are with you and your family. Your dad spoke to me of you often and was so proud to have you as a son! I wish I could have met you. We talked a lot about our sons, because he helped me through some tough times with mine at the time. I would hear from him pretty much on a weekly basis, when he was on plant. He would call to see how things were and to tease me and make me laugh! I will miss him so much! My prayers are with you. Jane Boyce

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
