Pearl Mangum Obituary

Pearl Mangum"Grandpa's Yellow Rose"  Lula Pearl Stratton Mangum, 84, died Dec. 2, 2002 in West Jordan, Utah.  Born April 1, 1918 in Jerome, Idaho to Henry Griffin and Lula Mae Pruitt Stratton. Married William Anthony Mangum in Sacramento, Calif., on Oct. 26, 1936, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 1996. She worked in dry cleaning most of her life, and as a cook in a nursing home. For her family, she was always cooking, sewing and canning. Taught Blazers, Young Women, and worked in Primary and Relief Society, and was a Visiting Teacher most of her life. She served a full-time mission in San Bernardino, CA with her husband after they both retired. She took care of her parents before their deaths. Survived by daughter, Ethel M. Garrett; son, Laurence Lee (Mary Lou) Mangum; daughters, Lucille Ellen  Bergener; Bonnie Alice Hilarides; 20 grandchildren; 50 great-grand-children; seven great-great-grand-children, and two more coming soon. Funeral services Monday, Dec. 9, 2002 at 11 a.m. at the Bluffdale 7th Ward Chapel, 15040 So. Mountainside Dr. (2400 West), Bluffdale, with a viewing prior from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Herriman Cemetery.
