Eva Meloche Obituary
Born in Berkeley Missouri to William Paul and Virginia (Reagan) Stone, Eva was predeceased by her parents, sister Pauline Spain and brother Joseph Stone, of Farmington, Mo. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, James J Meloche, MSgt (US Army,ret) of Converse,Texas; her children James P. Meloche of Converse, and Sara Meloche, MD of Friendswood; sister Lois Fix of Florida; granddaughter Christy Galindo of San Antonio, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Earning both Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Education, she taught for 20 years at Montgomery Elementary School, where she earned the love and respect of her students and colleagues. She loved dancing with her husband, serving God, wearing hats, making quilts and rock critters, needlepoint crafting, and collecting giraffes. Eva's long battle with lymphoma ended with family at her bedside and her favorite John Wayne movie playing in the background. The family request memorial donations be made to Abode Home or Agape Ministries of San Antonio. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 14th at Schertz Funeral Home from 5-8pm and Celebration of Life service will be held at Kirby Baptist Church on Thursday, September 15th at 11am.

My sympathy to Eva's family and friends. I had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know Eva while I was working at the Kirby Senior Center, where she would come for line-dancing classes and other activities. I got to really know Eva when I started going to the Harlequin Theatre with a group from the Senior Center. She was a lovely, happy person who enjoyed life to the fullest. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
