Evelyn Kneupper Obituary

Evelyn Marie Krueger Kneupper went to be with the Lord on February 12, 2008, at the age of 84. She was born April 27, 1923, in Cibolo, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerhard Joseph Kneupper; parents: William and Alwina Krueger; sisters: Valeska Lehmann and Wilma Krueger; brothers: Elton and Kermit Krueger. Evelyn is survived by her son, Kenneth Kneupper and wife Barbara; son, Russell Kneupper and wife Cindy; daughter, Beverly Muenchow and husband Glen; brothers, Werno Krueger and Olyn Krueger; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Oma Kneupper is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Over her lifetime Evelyn worked at the San Antonio Telephone Company during WWII, at the OLPH School Cafeteria, a teacher at the Mother's Day Out Program at Universal City United Methodist Church and over 25 years as an in-home child care provider. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 7110 Ladies Auxiliary in New Braunfels; a member of St. Ann's Society at OLPH Catholic Church; and a lifetime member of Martinez Social Club. Evelyn loved old-time music and dancing, gardening, baking, sewing, playing games and reading; but her favorite love was her family and she would do ANYTHING with them! A visitation will be held Thursday, February 14, 2008 from 5:00 until 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. at the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. I would like to express my sympathies to you the family, and friends of Mrs. Kneupper. I have so many wonderful memories of her (and the whole family). She practically raised me from the time I was 6 months old until I was, I think about 10 years old. She gave the best hugs and always smelled so good. She was so sweet to my brother (Jeff) and I. We always looked forward to going to the Kneupper home. Just one memory I'll share; I'll never forget going to the back of the property and getting a chicken and the chicken boiling on the stove, and then plucking the feathers. I had my own pet chicken though, and to my knowledge it never ended up in a pot! Many fond memories are returning with happy tears falling from my eyes at this moment. Love to all of you and God Bless You all.

It has been a number of years since I have seen Mrs. Kneupper or any of her family. Many, many years ago she used to "baby sit" for my brother (Brian) and I as well as for some of our nieces (Cyndi, Tammy & Tracey) and one nephew (Jeff). We all loved her. I know I used to look forward to her picking us up from St. Lawerence so we could get to her home to play. I always remember having fun at the Kneupper household. She always had food and snacks for us as well. Even as a child I could always feel the warmth coming from her. My thoughts and prayers go out to Kenneth, Russell and Beverly. Love & Peace, Bruce Burrier.
