San Antonio, Texas
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that our beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend Gus Trevino entered eternal rest on July 26, 2021 at the age of 89. Gus was born in San Antonio, Texas to Louis and Josephine (Gil) Trevino.
Gus started working for Deansteel Manufacturing right out of high school and retired after 60 plus years as Vice President. He was a master welder and the "go to" for correcting tight situations. He built a fantastic backyard playground for his grandchildren with his welding skills and creativity. All his grandchildren and great-grandchildren agree he was the "best Papaw in the world."
He is preceded in death by his parents, including step-mother, Irene Trevino; wife, Nova M. Trevino; brothers, Antonio G. Trevino and Louis M. Trevino, Jr. Gus is survived by his daughter Candace Trevino Emswiler (E.P. Emswiler, Jr.); son, Robert Trevino; sister, Norma Barrera; brother, Albert Trevino; grandchildren, Heather Sabine, Laurel Kail, Summer Emswiler, Christopher R. Trevino, and Jonathan D. Trevino; great-grandchildren, Tiernee Sabine, Declan Sabine, Rory Sabine, and Callahan Kail; numerous other loving family members and friends.

Robin and Candy,
I am truly sorry to hear of your loss. Uncle Gus was always so quiet, stoic in his personal losses of Heather, Ricky, and your mother. He was a genuinely good and humble person. He and I did not speak often, but when we did I was always taken with his calm demeanor, and he always made me feel like he wanted to engage in conversation. A truly good man. He will be sorely missed. You were fortunate to have him for a father. Godspeed to you and your families.
