Mark Stark Obituary
Mark X. Stark, age 88, passed away November 5, 2011, in Lufkin, Texas. He was born May 28, 1923 in San Antonio. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1940 and St. Mary's University. Mark was the first casualty from D-Day to come back to San Antonio. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by Virginia, his wife of 53 years; son, Paul Stark; sister, Genevieve Hastings; and brother, Cyril Stark. Mark is survived by his wife, Gloria Pollock; children, Cecilia Stark McGee and husband George, Tom Stark; grandchildren, Christopher Jones and wife Amanda, Mark Jones and wife Sarah; nieces and nephews; and Gloria's children and grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 11, 2011, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

Dear Gloria, Cecilia and Tom,
You and your family are in my thoughts at this sad time. Mark and I met over thirty years ago. Since then, we would visit at Stark and then Stark/Pollock family holiday gatherings. He seemed to truly enjoy being surrounded by his immediate and extended families. My condolences.
