Vivian Jackson Obituary

August 8, 1921 - February 24, 2017
Vivian W. Jackson entered eternal rest on February 24, 2017 at the age of 95. She was born in Hagerstown, MD. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Mary Kathryn (Weaver) Doub, her husband Kenneth Jackson, Sr., three brothers - George, Daniel, and Gerald Doub and her sister Josephine Leiter.
After graduating from nursing school in 1942, she joined the Army Nurse Corps and served in the European theatre. Vivian spent over 40 years working as a registered nurse. In April 1951, she married Kenneth Jackson, Sr. in San Antonio. Vivian had a great sense of adventure; she travelled the world after her retirement and never passed on an opportunity to see new things.
Surviving relatives include her daughter Marilyn (Edward) Bohach and grandchildren James (Cassara) Bohach, Kathryn Bohach, and Heather (Brandon) Broom. She is also survived by her son Kenneth (Kim) Jackson, Jr. and grandchildren Jordan (Michelle) Robison, Jeffrey (Linsey) Jackson, Tony (Destiny) Jackson, her sister Donna (Don) Nungesser, and six great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 10:15 a. m.
