No one can compare the kindness you and your wife, (my Oma,) have shown the whole family. Very kind people. I'll always be an example of kindness & still smile brightly because of you ❤. I feel that you gave me the family support everyone could use as a rememberance of what total compassion you had for your children and grandchildren. Even for your friends, neighbors, "adoptive type kids"..... May they follow in your consideration for others although it's rare nowadays. Thank you for your love & caring. God Bless You Always Opa!!!!! (& Oma)

It was not unusual for Mr. Attinger to receive 50(I once counted 70) pieces of "junk" mail, most of it from solicitors or charities containing various coins or even dollar bills(easily visible through the window). Fred must have very generous to be on everybodies list. He also could have been a millionaire if he saved all those coins and bills! My condolences to his family. His mailman, John, from 1999 to 2013

Rest in peace, Oom Fred. Wow! You made it to 101! You and Tante Edith were such great friends of my parents, and it was always so good to see your smiling face at our frequent get togethers. And what a great dancer you were...always loved waltzing with you! I will miss you!

I remember your smiling face and calm manner when I first met you in the Acquisitions section of San Diego State library in the 1960s.

Having taken my brother and myself under your wings since the tender ages of one and three, I am eternally grateful for your unwavering love and support, not only during a genocide war of all wars, but guidance through two migrations and assimilation with a loving wife and six beautiful children in tow. Job well done, my centenarian Papa! Now rest in heavenly and eternal peace.

To my Loving Father...I want to say "I Love You". You will be sorely missed. I thank you for the risks, the vision, future, faith & love you provided our family so we could have a better life. For that, I am greatful. Thank you Lord for allowing me to have this precious time with my Dad.

Sleep well Oom Fred.... Thank you for all the help you gave us when we first came to live in America in 1960. You and Tante Edith put a roof over our heads and gave us a chance to establish ourselves. Forever, thank you!
