Paula Anders Obituary

ANDERS, PAULA ANN Paula Ann Anders, age 81, passed away in San Diego, December 11, due to complications of emphysema. She was born to Malo and Paul Hill in Seattle on April 30, 1921. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Frank W. Anders and two sons, Dr. Mark H. Anders of Columbia University and wife Maureen, and Vaughan C. Anders of San Diego, Calif. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Egan Paul and Kaelin Helen Anders. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Harriet DuBruille and nephew Richard DuBruille. The Anders family moved frequently while Frank Anders was with the Navy. Upon retirement, Anders taught University computer science and mathematics in Colorado. Paula graduated from Roosevelt High School in Seattle, attended the University of Washington, Santa Barbara State College and graduated with a bachelors degree in English literature from San Francisco State University in 1946. She left a footprint in many volunteer activities over many years while rearing her two sons. She leaves a loving husband and two caring and thoughtful sons who gave her so much happiness. Paula loved skiing, tennis and camping and did some rock climbing. She also took flying lessons. Services: Fort Rosecrans December 30, 3:00 p.m. The family suggests that donations be made to the San Diego Hospice, 4311 Third Avenue, San Diego, CA 92103-1407.
