RICHARD JOSEPH SLOWEY

SLOWEY, RICHARD JOSEPH August 23, 1964 to April 2, 2012 Born August 23, 1964 in Cleveland, Ohio to Dr. Richard John Slowey, D.D.S and Geraldine Therese (Miller) Kraus, died suddenly Monday, April 2, 2012 at the age of 47 years in La Mesa, CA. Richard attended USC in Los Angeles and was very proud of his Irish ancestry and history. He was very active in the San Diego Irish Community for several years, and previously owned The Irish Shop in San Diego. Richard is survived by his mother, father, stepfather Gerald F. Kraus, sister Michelle Bolle (Scott), precious nephews Sebastian and Liam Bolle of Lakeside, CA, Kevin Kraus (Christine) of Tenafly, NJ and Kendall Kraus (Janet) of Los Angeles, CA. For those that knew Richard well, you know what a huge heart of gold he had. He was the type of person that would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it, even if it was the last shirt he had, and expect nothing in return. Richard's passing has left a tremendous hole in our hearts and lives and he will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. In keeping with his wishes, the family will be holding a traditional Irish Wake on Sunday, April 22, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the home of his Mother. Friends and Family are welcome to come to remember and celebrate Richard's joy of life. May the wind always be at his back.
