Tim was a mentor to me on police work as well as gambling regulation. He and I, along with our boss, would spend hours every week in Tim's office (due to mobility issues).
We would discuss everything.... politics, relationships, legal issues, crazy people and places in NC. I got us three together again, after over a year, for lunch a couple of months ago. Fllippi's pizza. It was good times. He never wanted to go out, so we came to him. Sharp, pensive, and wize. My condolences to blood family as well as the Satterthwaits. You will be dearly missed. Rest in peace my mentor.

I had the chance to work with Det. Darton when I was with the DA's office and he was an investigator for National City PD. He was a pleasure to work with. Very professional and hard working. He always had a smile on his face. Harry Elias

Tim and I were Crawford HS classmates of 1969. Then and later he had a rare combination of calm and strength. I hope the mold that made Tim was not broken -- the world needs more like him. Requiescat in pace my friend, hope to see you again some day.

It was our Honor to serve the National City Community. Your huge smile and easy going personality made work full of Great memories. I learned the meaning of patience and report writing, those who were there understand. We will miss you our Brother in Blue. Rest In Peace.

I am crushed to read about Tim. We were in high school together and there were only three of us who went into local law enforcement at three different agencies. Tim, NCPD, Leon Lowe, SFPD, and me, SDPD. I could always track him down for reunions by calling the PD or Sycuan. He will be missed. May his memory be eternal.

Oh Timmie. How could the world lose such a wonderful man? Larger than life in so many ways. Tim was the best man in our wedding, and we shared so many terrific times with Tim and his then wife Terry. We miss you and love you. One of a kind - there will never be anyone like this living, lovable giant of a man. We send our sincere condolences to Tim's family and friends.
