Carmen Grammatica, 79, died peacefully on Jan. 8, 2017. She had been a resident of Sarasota for more than 40 years after moving from New York City.
She is survived and mourned by sons, Carl of Ft. Myers and Mauro of Sarasota; daughter, Angela Grammatica-Alba of Rome, Italy; and grandchildren, John, Gigi, Tony and Alex.
A memorial service will be 9:00 a.m. today at Our lady Of Mount Carmel, 425 S. Tamiami Tr., Osprey, FL 34229. Arrangements are by Jennings Funeral Home & Crematory.

Mark and I will miss Carmen dearly, but know she is happier now that she is with the love of her life, John. We were not just neighbors but were friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.
