Sandra, I have only written this a thousand times and just could not find the words to express my feelings. All of you have lost someone very special. He will be missed by so many people but especially you and your sweet family. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Alice Mikkleson

Dr Noyes was a great teacher and mentor. I graduated 1980 from Food Science. I also boarded my horse at his property and have wonderful memories of riding on the ridge behind his house.

I certainly remember Dr. Noyes as one of the key members and "backbone" of the faculty during the years I was a student in what started out as "Food Industries" and transitioned to "Food Science" by the time I graduated in 1980. I remember Dr. Noyes as upbeat and he made the student experience special. I am really sorry to see the news of his passing. May God rest his soul in eternity.

I am a 1989 Food Science graduate and Dr. Noyes had a large part in my college experience. I took many of his classes. He was also our Food Science Club advisor and we attended many out of town IFT conventions with him. He also made it possible for me to attend London Study as a sophomore by writing a recommendation for me. Without his help, I probably would not have been able to go and that trip to London was one of the best experiences of my life! I am sorry I won't ever be able to visit him and tell him what a difference he made in my life. My condolences to his family.

It was a pleasure not only to meet Bob, but to take one of his last classes for the Wine Industry Cert. program. When we had the opportunity to honor him at the Vines to Wines Masquerade Dinner & Auction almost 2 years ago, I was so happy to see him surrounded by people that appreciated his hard work at the college, the WVIT program, and the club. I am thankful for all his contributions. He will be missed.

My deepest condolences to LTC Noyes’ family. The LTC was my company commander in the 1970’s when I commanded the detachment in Fresno. Bob was a good man that was a dedicated leader.

Sandy,
I am so very sorry to hear about Bob passing away! Deena e-mailed me late Saturday. He was one of the most special men I have ever met. He was always very supportive and encouraging to students. I still remember the encouragement and words of advise he gave to me over numberous years. This are words that impacted my life and career. He was a mentor and a friend. We will all miss him very much! I am truely sorry I was not able to keep in touch more. My thoughts and prayer will go out to your family during this time.

Sandra,
Thinking of you especially today. Glad the "boys", Mechelle, Amanda and Katie are surrounding you along with your many friends.
We'll do the same when you reach Georgia.

Sandra, Doug and John, Bob was one of the true gentlemen left in our times. He had such a big heart and it was so easy to love him. He always made me feel special. I will miss his smile, advice and his once in awhile dirty jokes. My thoughts, prayers and love are with you. I wish I could be there with you this weekend but know that I am there in spirit.

Sandra, Carole and I are so sorry to hear the news. I know Bob's fight was long and hard. The few times we had together were really great. From the UGA cookout to the Frazier Museum, there was never a dull moment. We will miss Bob and pray for you and your family.

I am so deeply saddened by Bobs passing....he was one of the most memorable people of all time...he was a mentor for me during my trials and tribulations of my Cal Poly career...always had an ear available to listen and give advice...and am also greatly saddened that I can't be at his memorial service due to going out of the country today 8/21...I very much want to be there Sandy....I am so, so sorry that I hadn't visited with him for a long time....I would have loved to have yet another conversation with him about life and whats important to me right now so you could put another quote on the refrigerator....! Again...I am so sorry..my heart goes out to Doug and John and to you Sandy ....
