Christina Selvester Obituary

Christina Selvester was born September 18, 1970 in Watsonville, California to Gary and Sue Cox-their only child. She accepted Christ as her Savior during her Freshman year of high school. Christy was active in many aspects of church at Santa Cruz First Church of the Nazarene and in cheerleading at Harbor High School, where she graduated in 1989. She attended Cabrillo Junior College then transferred to Point Loma Nazarene College earning a degree in Liberal Studies/Elementary Education. She married Bob Selvester, now a U. S. Navy Family Physician, on July 9, 1994.

Christy and Bob, both, were active members at Mission Valley Nazarene Church in San Diego; Bedford Church of the Nazarene in Bedford, OH; and Gateway Church of the Nazarene in Murrieta, CA. Christy served faithfully in the Drama and Children's Ministries. They looked forward to serving as missionaries.

On June 27, 2003, Caleb was born and they celebrated finalizing his adoption March 1st, 2004. In 2005, they were surprised with news that Christy was pregnant. Bob and Christy reported for duty in Sasebo, Japan on August 13th, just 5 weeks before Christy was due. Joshua was born September 16th, two days before Christy's 35th birthday and 3 days before she died, September 19, 2005.

Christy loved Jesus, her husband, two sons, parents, family, and so many friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 15th at 2:30 p.m. at Santa Cruz First Church of the Nazarene on Morrissey Blvd.
