Harry Sokol Obituary

Died Friday, May 9, 2008, in Santa Cruz, CA

Born in Brooklyn N.Y. on June 28, 1927 to his parents, Max and Lillian Sokol.

Harry worked for many years in the Kosher Meat business and Hebrew National before retiring to CA in 1988

As a member of Mended Hearts, Santa Cruz, he was devoted to the support of others in recovery, and a longtime member of Temple Beth El and Brotherhood.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Sybil, cherished father of Ronni Len Dreisbach, Jeff Val Sokol, adored grandfather of Steven, Max and Jennifer, dear brother Jerry Susan Sokol and brother-in-law Arny Michele Waxman, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves behind his dear Chavurah friends.

Harry showed affection for his family and friends by blessing them with his laughter, kibbitzing and even a little serenade. The joy he gave to others was returned to him.

Our family extends deep appreciation to all the physicians, nurses and staff at Dominican Hospital and Driftwood Nursing Home. Our deep gratitude goes to Rabbi Rick Litvak, Rabbi Paula Marcus, Drs. Potkin, Conroy, Levin and Alexander for their care and support of Harry and his family during his long illness.

Services were held on Monday May 12th at Temple Beth El, followed by interment at the Home of Peace Cemetery.

Contributions in Harry's memory may be made to Rabbi Litvak's Discretionary Fund, Temple Beth El, 3055 Porter Gulch Rd. Aptos, CA, 95003 or to
