Jeanne, also known as "Betty" to friends and family was a longtime resident of Capitola, CA. She was born in Stockton, CA to William and Elizabeth Eggers, part of a pioneer family of the San Joaquin Valley.
She spent most of her childhood in Patterson and Rio Vista CA and Graduated from Rio Vista High School in 1941. During WW II she served in the US Navy from 1943 to 1945. After WWII Jeanne went to work for the Pacific Bell Telephone Company and worked as an operator and supervisor until her retirement in 1982.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Manual "Manny" Machado. Her parents, William and Elizabeth Eggers, a sister Beverly Derrick, her brothers Robert Eggers and Kenneth Eggers.
She is survived by sons, Dennis Eggers of Tracy, CA, Jim Machado of Chico, CA, and Michael Machado of Colorado Springs, CO., a sister, Meralee Light of Tracy, CA, brothers William Eggers of Escalon, CA and Norman Eggers of Newman, CA. In addition she is survived by 11 Grandchildren and 15 Great-Grandchildren.
Jeanne was very much loved by her family and friends. Her love of life, great smile, and friendly ways will be missed by all.
Services will be held at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga St, Santa Cruz, CA Wednesday June 15, at 11:00 a.m. Friends are invited to call at Pacific Gardens Chapel Tuesday from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. A private cremation and inurnment will follow.
