Margie Dixon Obituary

DIXON Margie Burton Dixon, passed away after a short illness on July 31, 2006, in Richmond VA. She is survived by her husband Mike (Malcolm R. Dixon, Jr.,) their children Lu Mahon of Birmingham, AL, Ruddy and wife Dawn of Phoenix, AZ, Hal and wife Sandra of Murrells Inlet, SC, her sister Patsy Musgrove of Atlanta, GA, her brother Don Burton and wife Campbell of Tampa, FL, their grandchildren Mike and Matt Mahon, Burton and Elizabeth Dixon and Michael Finlay, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. She was born October 9, 1926, in Macon, GA, where she grew up and graduated from Wesleyan College in 1948. After being an active volunteer in Atlanta, Jacksonville, Gainesville, FL, and Charleston, SC, she moved to Richmond in 1972. There she served on the Session Women's Council of First Presbyterian Church. She volunteered at the Sheltering Arms Physical Rehabilitation Hospital, Richmond Symphony, and Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. She was active in The Women's Club, Tuckahoe Woman's Club, Riverside Garden Club and Country Club of Virginia. Margie loved flower arranging, gardening traveling, and her many friends, children, grandchildren and husband. A Memorial Service followed by a reception will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 4602 Cary Street Road, at 11:00 on Friday, August 4. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church.
