HERBERT L. DAVIDSON SEPTEMBER 6, 1930 - AUGUST 16, 2018 Herbert Laurence Davidson, age 87, died in his home in Eldorado, Santa Fe on August 16, 2018. He graduated in 1956 from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In his early days Herb lived and painted in Europe and Israel. Herb moved to Santa Fe at the age of 57 with his wife Lee where he realized his dream of living and painting in the southwest. Herb's artwork displayed an amazing attention to detail and captured the faces and traditional dress of Native American and western culture. Herb is renowned for his portraits of such notable individuals as David Ben Gurion, Hugh Hefner, Arnold Schwartzeneger, and Janis Joplin to name but a few. Herb loved animals, especially cats and supported many feline charities over his lifetime. He is survived by his only nephew, John Goldberg from Chicago Illinois. He will be dearly missed by his close friends Mick and Meri Brown, and their daughters and sons in law, Michaela and Conor Sanchez and Etan and Maia Polinger.
