ROSINA PACHECO- DOWNING Obituary
During the early morning of April 26, 2023, my precious wife Rosina Pacheco Downing, who I loved with every fiber of my being, left us to go to the arms of Jesus. She was two months to the day from her 90th birthday. Her heart was just unable to pull her across the finish line. Rosina was born to Henry Pacheco and Antonia Sena Pacheco on June 26, 1933. She had four brothers-Henry Jr. (deceased); Gene (deceased); Ernest and Orlando. The entire family worked together at the family market on Palace Ave, across from the Lensic Theater.
Rosina had three children: Leonard, Vernon and Laura. She also had four step-children: Annette, April, Angela and Trey Downing.
She worked a short period of time for the State of New Mexico. She was also employed for Allen Stamm Construction and Stanke-Brown Construction.
Rosina worked alongside her husband of 50 years Harold Downing in their electrical contracting, home building and other business projects. She always joined in with the work. She was never a casual observer.
Employees of the supply houses were always glad when Rosina accompanied her husband in picking up materials. Rosina constantly said, "I love Santa Fe and its people ". The family wishes to thank all friends and acquaintances for the love they shared with our "precious" Rosina.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

We miss our dear best friend. We have so many wonderful memories: the lake, traveling to Europe, camping, Mexico, Christmas at the Downing house, Christmas at our house, all the gourmet parties, just having a friend you could rely on any time of night or day. Rosina was one of a kind. Her heart was filled with so much love which made her one of a kind. I will miss all the beautiful memories we shared together backing, shopping and going to the lake. She never had a bad thing to say about anyone and always kept me as her niece no matter what. I love you so very much a pray I'm half the beautiful person you are. Dear Harold and family, our sincere condolences. We met Rosina and Harold at church and loved both of them. Rosina was physically gorgeous but more importantly spiritually beautiful inside and out. She loved Jesus and it showed. Harold treated Rosina like the queen that she was. The world is a little dimmer but heaven is brighter. See you in heaven sweet lady.

My condolences to Harold and family upon learning of Rosina´s death. Rosina was the sparkle in the room. She was beautiful, graceful and kind to everyone around her. I did not know Rosina well, however, I had the honor of being invited to her home during Christmas many years ago. The excitement it brought me to see the extensive decorations in every room is a memory I´ll never forget. There is no accounting for good taste and Rosina had it all!
