Diane Rios was born on August 1st, 1956 to Abelardo and Margaret Rios in Walnut Creek, California. She attended Santa Maria High School and graduated in 1975. As a Homemaker and Caregiver she was loving, caring, and had a great sense of humor that lifted the spirits of her family and those she was taking care of. Diane was a strong and outgoing person. She was an advocate for others as a volunteer for the Salvation Army. She was a faithful Christian woman that loved spending time with her grandkids and family. Everyone loved her cooking. Diane loved her dog Walsh and all animals as well as gardening, bicycling, walking and country western music.
Diane is preceded in death by her Daughter Shannon M. Rios, Sister Catherine Mussig, Grandparents Lino Fierro, Alvino Rios, Elvira Rios, and Florence G. Sierra.
Diane is survived by her Father Abelardo C. Rios of Clayton,CA and her Mother Margaret Gutierrez of Santa Maria, CA. She is also survived by her Son Brandon L. Rios of Santa Maria, CA. Brothers David A. Rios and wife Margaret of Santa Maria, CA, Michael A. Rios of Bull Head City, AZ, and Christopher S. Rios of Arroyo Grande, CA. Sisters Cynthia A. Janis and husband Ray of Santa Maria, CA, Margaret A. Pueschel of Lompoc, CA, Donna E. Markley of Mason, OH, and Tanya J. Azevedo and husband Frank of Santa Maria, CA. Grandchildren Brandon L. Rios Jr., Sienna T. Rios, and Caleb A. Rios, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a viewing for Diane at Coast Hills Baptist Church located at 650 West Rice Ranch Road on Friday, December 14th, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. with the funeral service following at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Coast Hills Baptist Church or the Santa Maria Animal Shelter.

Miss you Auntie Diane! I hope you and Auntie Cathy are having a blast. I saw a salvation army worker today reminds me of how I would go see you at Vons to make sure you were warm and had money to eat :) I miss & love you so much. Eddie misses you too!! Dearest Diane,funny,goofy,loving,kid @ heart kind of a gal.You were deffinatley one of a kind.So unique to us that knew you.You will never be forgotten,you were in my life for a short 10 years,but the last year of your journey on this Earth was when we were closest.Findng the Lord I was able to share the Love God has put in my heart to truly love you and we would talk and text and I would tell you I loved you and you would tell me you loved me when we would hang up the phone,you are the best Grandma to my kids BJ and Sienna.Bjs taking it pretty hard he loves you sooooooo.Seeing him hurt like that is unbearable to me but Im so happy he knows the Lord and knows ur dancing on streets of gold in true paradise with God and all other angels.Sienna lol she calls you little grandma.Cause you were the littlest to her out of you and my mom.I just want to tell you THANK YOU!!!!!! from the bottom of my heart how extremely happy that you raised an awesome son as a single mother you made it happen for your baby Brandon and now I have that same love for my little Brandon Jr. I thank you that in return my kids have the greatest dad who loves his kids more than life itself and all the credit goes to you for raising a great little boy who turned into a great Daddy.I treasure the moments that you were @ your happiest seeing your both grandkids being born and by their side till the very end.The last memory that stays vivid in my heart and mind is when.I took the kids over too you about a week before your passing and it was pouring rain and I took the kids to see you.They stayed with you for most of the day and about 7 you called me and said you were tired and you were going to get to bed and I said Id be right there and when I got them I called you right after to thank you for watching them for me and you told me thank you and that I made your day!By taking them too you.Brings tears to my eyes how much you love my kids and they knew it especially BJ.Love you Diane thanks for the memories and laughter oh and who can forget that killer meatloaf with your homemade BBQ sauce!!My promise to you is to allways talk about you to your grandkids.Your allways in our hearts.This isnt goodbye its "see you soon."

To the Rios family. Diane will be greatly missed. I was very sadden to hear about her lost. I've known Diane since i was 4yrs old. My prayers and thoughts go Out to the Family and especially Brandon too.I know it's not easy saying goodbye to your Mother for now. But she awaits you in Heaven til then.
