Mildred C. Bills

Mildred C. Bills Gansevoort-Mildred C. Bills, age 86, formerly of Wilton Gansevoort Road, died Sunday morning, October 16, 2011 at Saratoga Care Nursing Home, Saratoga Springs. Born on May 5, 1925 in Lake Luzerne, she was the daughter of the late Augustus and Florence (Hall) Johnson. She lived most of her life in Gansevoort. She was educated in the South Glens Falls School District. For over 50 years, Mildred had worked as a cook in several area restaurants. She was an avid bingo player and also enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved flowers, working in her garden, square dancing and music, especially, country music. Mildred was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, George W. Bills in 1973; a daughter, Linda Polak; a grandson, Michael Shuler, Jr.; three brothers, Charles J. Johnson, Frank Johnson, William Johnson. Survivors include seven children, Patricia Jones and her husband Richard of Petersburg, Gloria Fitzgerald and her husband Joseph of Gansevoort, George Bills and his wife Joan of Ballston Spa, Thomas Bills of Gansevoort, Brian Bills and his wife Doreen of Hudson Falls, Susan Shuler and her husband Michael of Maryville, TN, Sharon Dewey and her husband Harry of Troy; one sister, Bertha Honsaker of Schenectady, a son-in-law, Walter Polak of Halfmoon; sisters-in-law, Theresa Johnson of Mechanicville and Inga Johnson of Ferra Bush; one uncle, Zelman Hall of Lake Luzerne; 21 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Brewer Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
