William “Wil” Terrance Burke, 39, of Galway passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at his home on Saturday, March 26, 2022.He was born in Syracuse on October 20, 1982, a son of Terrance Michael and Lori Brooks Burke.Wil grew up in Galway since the age of three and attended Galway Central School, graduating in 2001. After high school he worked as an HVAC technician until present, and while he took pride in his hard work, spending time with his family and friends, and having fun was his priority.Wil loved the Adirondacks, yearly trips to the St. Lawrence, going to concerts, dirt bike races and just being outdoors. Whether it was camping, hiking, jet skiing, ice fishing or “going for a rip” on his snowmobile, he enjoyed life. He loved watching the Buffalo Bills and Sabres games and spending time at Marge’s Bar.Wil had a special presence that could light up any room and he was always the life of the party. He was known for his stories, jokes, movie impersonations, but especially for his great hugs. He could engage in conversation with anyone and with his larger than life personality, he made many lifelong friends.Wil was predeceased by his father, Terrance M. Burke as well as his grandparents, Robert C. & Irene Brooks and Harold C. & Ruth Burke.Survivors include his best friend and Mom, Lori Brooks Burke of Galway; three sisters, Kali (Earl) Douglas of Greenfield, Corie (Brandon) Bishop and Emily Burke all of Galway. Known as Uncle Wil or “Uncle Bubby” he was proud of his seven nieces and nephews- Austen, Troye, Brody, Hannah, Paitynn, Wade and Judd. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2022, from noon – 2:30 pm at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Inc. 111 County Highway 106 (Corner of Route 29 & Black Street), Johnstown. Sharing of memories will be held from 2:30 – 3 pm at the funeral home.
