RUTH CORENE ADOLPH, 98, of Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Homestead in Morrison, IL.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, IL, with Rev. JT Bean officiating. A visitation will precede the service starting at 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral. Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL. In lieu of flowers the family has established a memorial in memory of Ruth.
Ruth was born September 17, 1925, in Morrison, IL, to Henry and Cornelia (Dykema) Smith. She attended Morrison Grade Schools and was a graduate of Morrison High School. She married Ralph H. Adolph on November 14, 1947, in Morrison, IL. Throughout Ruth's career, she dedicated herself to the service of others. She was a trusted professional in admissions and insurance for Morrison Hospital and later continued working in the field of insurance for Dr. Vandermyde's office. Ruth's faith was an essential part of her life, as she was a lifelong member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison. She actively participated in the church choir, engaged in Bible studies, was a member of the Philathia Society and Hand Quilting Ladies of Ebenezer. She enjoyed worldwide travel, playing bridge and reading.
Survivors include one son, Ryan Adolph of Saugatuck, MI; two grandchildren, Anne (Chris) Mills of Morrison, IL, and Wayne (Stacy) Temple of San Diego, CA; three great-grandchildren, Violet, Sam, and Amelia Mills.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph; one daughter Laurie Adolph; two sisters, Lorraine Workman and Helen in infancy; three brothers, Robert and Arnold Smith and Edward Smith in infancy.
