James Shippy Obituary

James (Jim) L. Shippy - MARIETTA - James (Jim) L. Shippy, 79, of Marietta died Thursday, November 20, 2014. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 10AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marietta with Monsignor John Walsh and Father Joe Shaute officiating. Interment will be held 10AM Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah. Jim served in the US Naval Reserve and US Air Force and was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus for many years. Survivors include his wife, Catherine Cetti Shippy of Marietta; daughter, Jeanenne Adams (Paul) of Marietta; son, Lee Shippy (Holly) of Woodstock; five grandchildren, Ryan Adams, Loren Adams, Megan Shippy, Griffin Shippy, and Nathan Shippy; and loving cousins. Family will receive friends 6-8PM Monday at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta with a Prayer Service at 7:30PM.
