Mary Elizabeth Campbell Goodwin - INDIANAPOLIS, NC - Mary Elizabeth Campbell Goodwin, 9I, of Indianapolis, died on July 28, 2007 after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, Carroll Cason Goodwin. Always kind, energetic, and a source of inspiration to others, she remained active after retirement at age 89 from retail sales. Mary worked as a loyal employee at Wm. H. Block, Lazarus, and J. Shepherd. She continued her love of gardening and maintained her home with help of family and friends. She was an avid sports fan and followed the Chicago Cubs, Indianapolis Pacers and Indianapolis Colts. She is survived by her three children: Earl H. Goodwin and wife Phyllis of Rocky Mount, NC, Mrs. Carol Elizabeth Goodwin Aldrich and husband. Steve of Savannah, GA, John David Goodwin and wife Diane of Indianapolis, nine grandchildren and three great-grandsons. Her sister Helen Adkins of Rowlett, TX also survives. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, July 30, 2007 at Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel. Graveside service will follow at Beaver Hill Cemetery, Edenton, NC. As her children's education brought her great pride, in lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the St. Andrew's School, P. O. Box 30639, Savannah GA 31410.
