Elizabeth DiNicola Obituary

Elizabeth "Betty" DiNicola, 84, passed away Friday.

Born at home in Centralia, she was the second daughter and seventh of eight children of Frank and Mary May, immigrants from Poland.

She attended grade school in Centralia, Catholic high school at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, and subsequently graduated as a registered nurse from the Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing in 1952.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, in May 2015; brothers, Eddie, Stanley, Charlie, John, Frank and Bernie; sister, Helen; daughter, Lisa, in 1983.

Surviving are a sister, Shirley Ulshafer, Nuremburg; brother-in-law, Jerome DiNicola, West Virginia; children, Maribeth, David, Arturo, Camille, Gino and Michelle; 20 grandchildren.

She was a devoted wife and mother. She radiated kindness. All of her life, she gave of herself.

In lieu of flowers and donations, Betty would have preferred the donor to donate blood, if possible, at the local blood bank. Services will be private.

So sorry to hear about your mother.She was really so special She prayed ever day for a young boy who had a brain tumor and he did get well. However now she will be caring for your father again. My deepest sympathy to all of you.
