Sally McDonald Obituary
Sally was born Sarah Louise Golden to Thomas H. and Marguerite Schwarzenbach Golden on June 22, 1926, in Pottsville.
She graduated from Pottsville High School in 1943 and Hood College, Frederick, Md., in 1947. In 1950, she married William Aloysius "Bill" McDonald, a classmate from Pottsville High School. Since 1974, Sally and Bill lived on their farm in Annville, where they raised sheep, horses, chickens and peacocks.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill, and sister, Jean Golden Phillips.
She is survived by her brother, Thomas H. Golden, of Rogers, Ark.; children, Timothy, Patrick, Maggie, Susan and Katy; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the Palmyra Public Library. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kreamer Funeral Home, 618 E. Main St., Annville.

Sally and Bill were the dearest lifelong friends of my father Carl , he spoke of them often and when I did a story on his WWII experience, Sally was incredibly helpful and forthcoming with a photo and stories. She was so gracious and everything I would expect From all the the accolades from dad. Our greatest generation parents are gone but I hope we hold some of their qualities in our hearts and continue their legacy. My condolences on the loss of both your parents, prayers of comfort to you all.
