Darrin Schaefer Obituary

Sept. 27, 1968 - Feb. 10, 2013
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013 at St. Martin Catholic Church in St. Martin, MN for Darrin J. Schaefer, age 44, who died Sunday as a result of injuries due to an auto accident. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m. Friday at the St. Martin Parish Hall in St. Martin. Parish prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. Catholic United Financial will pray a rosary at 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning at the St. Martin Parish Hall.
Darrin was born in Melrose to Roman and LuAnn (Wensmann) Schaefer. He worked with his brother Keith on the family farm, Evergreen Acres Dairy, rural St. Martin. Darrin enjoyed life to the fullest, riding his Harley motorcycle, fishing, traveling, working on the farm, and spending time with friends and family, and also his nieces and nephew. He was a member of St. Martin Parish, St. Martin Fire & Rescue, and Catholic United Financial.
Survivors include his parents; siblings, Keith (Pat), Michelle (Dale) Schoenberg, Stacy (Jesse) Kampsen; nieces and nephew, Megan, Kayla, Sara, and Abby Schaefer, Taylor and Ellie Schoenberg, and Brady and Brooke Kampsen.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Arrangements are with Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond, MN.

When I heard of this tragedy the first thing I told a relative of his was we lost "One of the Good Guys".
When I first met him I thought we would get along and after getting to know him at his cousins place over the past few years I found out how good a guy he was...always willing to lend an ear for a story and always putting his 2 cents in.....
