Wilfred "Willie" W. Hansen, 94

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 15, 2012 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Wilfred Hansen, age 94, who died Monday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Burial will be in the Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls.

A visitation for Wilfred will be after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. Parish prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. followed by a rosary with Catholic United Financial. Visitation will continue from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning at the funeral home.

Willie was born in Jacobs Prairie, MN to John and Mary (Sand) Hansen. He married Margaret Korn on February 1, 1949 in St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring. Willie served in the Army from 1941 - 1945 in the European Theater. He worked at The Wenner Co. as a plumber for 19 years. In 1964 he started Hansen Plumbing & Heating, until his retirement in 1979. Willie was Key Master of St. Boniface church for 20 years. He loved playing cards, bowling, baseball, and collecting cans. Willie also enjoyed snowblowing, mowing lawns, and gopher trapping. He was a member of St. Boniface parish, Catholic United Financial, and the Cold Spring American Legion and VFW.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Margaret; children, Robert of Cold Spring, Betty (Mark) Philippi of St. Cloud, Mary Lou (John) Klaers of Willmar, Rosie (Bob) McClenahan of Cold Spring, Alen (Patricia Sundland) of St. Cloud, Michael of Cold Spring, Lorraine (Gabe) Schmitz of Cold Spring, Bernice (Kurt) Kunkel of Luxemburg; sisters, Rosina, and Mary Ann, and brother, Lawrence; 22 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and 11 brothers and sisters.
