Frank Jewett Obituary

Frank Warren Jewett
Kittery, ME - Frank Warren Jewett, 89, passed away peacefully at his home on April 25, 2021. Born and raised in Kittery, Maine, he graduated from Traip Academy in 1950. Frank then served in the USAF for 4 years in Spokane Washington where he found his wife, Marlene Gothmann. He and his bride were blessed with four children, of which he was most proud.
Hundreds of high school and middle school students were privileged to have him as a teacher during his thirty-two-year career in California, Washington, and, mostly, in the Portsmouth NH school district.
He was a faithful member of the South Eliot Advent Christian Church for over fifty years. He considered his relationship with God and this congregation as foundational to how he lived his life and loved his family.
Frank's talent for building, produced beautiful work including his home, camp, canoes, and countless other creations. His love of the outdoors was evident in his joy of gardening, fishing, and hunting. Frank was a voracious reader throughout his life, consuming books for both information and recreation. Many of his most cherished memories came from his travels throughout the United States with Marlene and their children.
Frank leaves his wife of 67 years, Marlene Jewett of Kittery, ME to cherish his memory. He also leaves behind their children, Frank Jewett and his wife Judy of Fitchburg MA; Nancy Jessurun and her husband Scott of Greenland NH; Dana Jewett and his fiance Mary Shea Rosen of Brattleboro, VT; and Eric Jewett and his wife Angela of Fayette, ME. He also leaves behind sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Fecteau; Judith Jumper and her husband Richard; numerous beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as many loved nieces and nephews.
