Nancy Knapp Obituary
Nancy was born in Portsmouth, N.H. on December 7, 1943, a daughter of Fred and Clara (Matthews) Parshley and graduated from Portsmouth High School.
Nancy attended Nursing School at Maine Medical Center in Portland for three years and became an RN.
Nancy was employed by St. Raphael's Hospital in New Haven, Conn. for many years before returning to Portsmouth, N.H. where she worked for Sierra Health Care for several years.
She was a long time member of the United Unitarian South Church of Portsmouth, N.H. where she was very involved with church committees and also the choir for services.
Nancy enjoyed writing, gardening, painting, spending time with family and she also loved cats.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents.
She is survived by her son, Seth Knapp and his partner Donald Giguere of Arundel, Maine, two brothers, Robert "Bob" Parshley of Westbrook, Maine and Greg Parshley of York, Maine her aunt Eva Parshley of Portsmouth, N.H., and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
SERVICES: Memorial visiting hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the Bibber Memorial Chapel 111 Chapel Road, Wells where a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7 p.m.
Interment will be private.
Should friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Animal Welfare Society, PO Box 43, West Kennebunk, ME 04094 in Mrs. Knapp's memory.

My therapy dogs and I will miss Nancy. She was always so happy to see them! Briggs, Angie and Duncan's tails would wag so much when she was visiting with them. My deepest condolences to your family during this difficult time.
