Always a good memory of Hans, from the time I first met Dolly and Hans at Christina and Harold Lee's home in Hong Kong during the early 1960s. We stayed in touch during his many years with American Express Company, and saw much more of each other after I moved to New York in 1977. Hans and Dolly at that time had a summer home near Kent where we spent many enjoyable hours. Of particular recall to me is how very kind Hans and Dolly were to me during my two year separation from my first wife in 1980. Understanding when it mattered! Blessings on Hans and on Dolly. My darling Hansje,

Thank you so much for your Valentine's Day gift - the album Eddie made for me on your behalf. It has included our pictures and your own words expressing you love for me (he recorded on 2005).
I will keep the memories of your love in my heart until we re-unite in heaven.

Dear Opa,

Not a day has past by that I don't think about you and wish you were still here with us. I know you are watching down on us (with milk and chocolate chip cookies in hand) and I find great comfort in that. I miss your smile, I miss your deep belly laughs, I miss our visits to NY to see you and Dolly, I miss you. I love you Opa, now and always.
Love,
Nancy

My darling Hansje,
My heart aches knowing that you will not be by my side. I kiss your picture 12 times morning and night like I did to you in the past years. My heart aches knowing that I no longer can get the affectionate embrace and twinkling smile from you.
Your "silly goose" sweatheart Dolly

Dearest Dad:

I miss you with all my heart and soul and long to put my arms around you again. I will always cherish the times we had together and am grateful and proud that you were my father. With your love and guidance you have helped to shape me into the person I am today and for that I will always be indebted to you. You always called me your little sunshine, but in reality, Dad, you were the sunshine in my life and for that I will always be grateful. There will always be a special place in my heart for you for ever and always.

Love,

Vicky

Hans was there for me at critical junctures of my own life. Dolly and Hans were friends when others took sides.
That is friendship: and friendship is what Hans and Dolly are all about.
With great affection, Peter and Barbara Wodtke
