My cousin Betty seemed a woman of no ego yet her warmth and courage shone! Christmas of '76 found us together in the Phillipines. My pal from Tokyo was so inspired by Betty's mission she followed her to help and obseve her work at Dansalan in Mindanao. This says it all. Love, D.

Betty was a dear friend of my mother, Rachel Neville. I have fond childhood memories of Betty, who radiated a gentle, kind wisdom. I remember her warm eyes, a sense of fun, and a quiet strength. My mother cherished her friendship and had a great deal of respect for Betty. My thoughts are with her family as they celebrate her long, full life and all the love she shared with the world.

Betty was a highly respected teacher at White Center Heights Elementary School in the Highline School District. I was fortunate to have been able to work with her as a staff member at that school. She was a very dedicated teacher, one who most certainly was devoted to the needs of the children in her care.

My life has been immeasurably enriched by Betty's friendship, and the friendship of her wonderful extended family. All the years I have known her, Betty has been a model of warmth, generosity, and humaneness. My family have been friends with Betty since I was a little boy, perhaps as long as 45 years ago, when we were congregants in Ernie Yarrow's South Pasadena church. A few years after Ernie's passing, we moved up to the Northwest, and I grew up near Seattle with Betty and her family as constant and close friends. Words must fail in an attempt to express how wonderful and enriching it has been to know Betty and her family, to be part of her life and have had her as part of ours. We who were fortunate enough to know her surely live our lives better because the example of her life resides deep within us, and its lessons have become as natural to us as breathing.
