Dear Hailey:
I met you when you were 7 yrs old.
I remember you watching movies in the conference room while waiting for your daddy to bring you home from work. I was so happy to meet you, finally, someone my height. You made me smile so much with your quick wit and gentle spirit. One time, you were making stain-colored, decorations for your dad's office. I thought you were the most magnificent artist. Your eyes danced with a wonderful light -- innocent and ever-glowing. Once, my arms reached out to hug you. Later, my heart fell to my feet when I watched as your dad had to carry you down the stairs because you were not feeling well. Another time, I recall you dancing and laughing in the office saying, "What Howard? There's only one Howard -- Howard is my dad!" You were so surprised to find out that there was actually another man named "Howard" in the office. I remember holding your hand and giggling with you at the office picnic party in Sept. 2000. You had a blast dunking your dad in the dunk tank. Reading books and singing with you at the Christmas party was a thrill. Hailey, thank you for being my friend. Thank you for teaching us lessons about courage, love, compassion, friendship and happiness. Please know that I have thought of you often and will always carry your spirit in my heart. I wish to celebrate your life and live as you did with a smile on my face and a giant, generous heart with magical, pixy dust from Tinkerbell. You are and always will be my hero and angel. RIP.

This is a poem that I wrote for everyone about Hailey, I loved her dearly and I miss her terribly, I hope that this poem helps everyone as it has helped me~
An Angel
Sent from Heaven above
God missed her so
He let her come
And touch our lives
Teach us love
Goodness and right
When her mission was done
God opened His arms
Welcomed her home
She's watching us now
Wanting us to remember
What she has taught us
Not that she is gone
I love you Hailey
Love ~Angiea

Words can't explain how crushed I am that Hailey has passed away. Hailey attended school with my daughter Sarah. When we lived in Queen Anne, the girls road the bus to schoool together. A few times, Hailey's backpack came home with Sarah. Last year, both girls were at the Stanley Stamm camp. Sonja Peterson sent me several pictures of the girls together at school and on a field trip. I know that Lawton was a kinder, gentler, more understanding place thanks to Hailey's presence. Please accept our families condolences.
Most truly,
Deborah Wardwell
