Robert Wendlandt Obituary

Robert Edwin WENDLANDT 1927 ~ 2008 This gentle soul went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 3, 2008. Bob was born in Fairbury, Nebraska to Dora and John Wendlandt. He served with the Navy and was discharged in 1946. Bob attended college at Oregon State University, receiving a degree in Civil Engineering. In 1954, Bob married Dolores Martin and they had two daughters. Bob was employed by Bethlehem Steel and Pittsburgh Des Moines Steel. After retirement and Dolores's death in 1989, he drove a school bus for Bellevue Christian School. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and first wife. Bob is survived by his wife Nancy of Edmonds, his daughters Debora Wendlandt and Pam Jorgenson of Seattle and numerous cousins in Nebraska. As an active member of his church, Bob worked with the youth at Mercer Island Covenant Church and as a Stephan Minister at Maple Park Church. Memorial Service will be at Maple Park Church (17620 60th Ave. W., Lynnwood) at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 18 with lunch to follow. Private interment at Evergreen-Washelli. Memorial suggestions: Maple Park Building Fund, UW Alheizheimer Research Program, South County Senior Center
