Russell Lager Obituary

Russell A. Lager

Russ Lager, passed peacefully at home, surrounded by family on June 5, 2016 after a long struggle with Parkinsonism. He was born in St. Peter, MN to Russell & Iona Lager who preceded him in death and was the youngest of three children.

He left MN in 1960 for Italy, where he served 3 years in the US Army. After his discharge (and a brief stint in St. Peter) his career in Professional Recruiting moved him to Seattle, WA. He fell in love with not only the PNW but also the love of his life Marlene and set up permanent residence. They married in 1969 and had two children; Laura Lynn and Troy Russell. Russ was a top Recruiter for Murphy, Symonds and Stowell for many years before opening Russ Lager & Associates Professional Recruiters. His successful career spanned over 45 years until his battle with Parkinsonism forced him to stop working.

He is survived by his wife Marlene, daughter Laura Lager Martell (Michael) of Surprise, AZ; son Troy Russell Lager (Linda) of Los Angeles, CA and four grandchildren; Beckett, Nathan, Kiersten and Jake. As well as his two sisters, Loretta Nissen (Dick) of Minneapolis, MN and Beverly Hall of Los Angeles, CA.

A memorial to celebrate his life will be held on July 1st, 2016 at Calvin Presbyterian Church, Shoreline, WA at 2:00 p.m.
