Erna JoAnn Horn

1936 - 2023

Erna JoAnn Horn, 87 of Sedalia, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia.
She was born January 2, 1936, in Edwards, MO, a daughter of Clyde B. and Goldie O. (Howard) Edwards. On June 7, 1953, in Sedalia, MO, she married Jack H. Horn, who preceded her in death on May 5, 1995.
JoAnn was a graduate of Smith-Cotton High School class of 1953. She was a member of Broadway Baptist Church in Sedalia, where she enjoyed teaching children's church and being a song leader. She later became a member of Emmett Avenue Baptist Church. JoAnn worked for many years at Interstate Studios. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sharing and helping others.
Survivors include three sons, Tom Horn, Tim Horn (Evelyn), and Jack J. Horn, Jr. (Tammy) all of Sedalia; one brother, Dale Edwards of Otterville; two granddaughters, Amy Lamb, and Krista Maudlin; ten great-grandchildren, Jackson Horn, Dylan Wolfe, Drew Lamb, Madilyn Meyer, Macy Meyer, Justin Meyer, Abigail Meyer, Jason Meyer, Olivia Maudlin, and Betty Lamb; one great-great-granddaughter, Evelyn Pearl Wolfe.
In addition to both of her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dee Edwards, and Howard Lee Edwards; three sisters, Emma Jean McCown, Jane Armstrong, and Mary Ruth Scott; one grandson, Justin Horn.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at the funeral home with burial to follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Emmett Avenue Baptist Church.
