Ethel Hicks Obituary

Ethel "Lorene" Hicks, 85, of Sedalia, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2010, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.

She was born November 15, 1924, in Carroll County, MO, a daughter of Jerry and Ida Mae Chapman Fuller. On November 13, 1934, she married John R. Hicks, who died April 2, 1998.

Mrs. Hicks was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Carol M. Fry, of Warsaw, and Veneta D. Bailey, of Green Ridge; two sons, John R. Hicks Jr. and Robert Lee Hicks, both of Sedalia, three sisters, Iola Scott, of Sedalia, Betty Herberger, of Carrollton, and Ruth Colliver, of Liberty; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Mildred Rupe, Dorothy Taylor, Evelyn Friemonth and Nelma Barnes.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Heckart Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Tuesday at Heckart Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Wesley United Methodist Church.
