Wilberta Rogers McKinney
Aug. 23, 1927 – July 13, 2023

Funeral services for Wilberta (Rogers) McKinney, 95 of Sallisaw, will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Sallisaw. Burial will follow at Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mrs. McKinney was born on Aug. 23, 1927, in Akins to Hattie Elizabeth (Smith) Rogers and Denton Oliver Rogers. She passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023 in Sallisaw.
She was married to Loyd McKinney on Nov. 5, 1949, in Sallisaw. He preceded her in death on Aug. 7, 1995.
She owned Peggy's Cafe for over 40 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church for over 60 years and a foster grandparent for 20 years. She enjoyed sewing, word puzzles and working in her yard on her flowers and plants.
Survivors are two daughters, Cheryl Mathews and Kenny of Colcord and Marilea Berry and Jack of Sallisaw; one son, Gerald Franklin McKinney of Sallisaw; three grandchildren, Susan Mathews of Fayetteville, Ark., Joshua Berry of Sallisaw and Rusty Mathews of Colcord; one great-grandchild, MaKenna Berry of Sallisaw; one sister, Kaye Miller of Amarillo, Texas; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one sister, Doris Craig and two brothers, Wilburn "Shorty" Rogers and Leland Rogers.
Active pallbearers will be Joshua Berry, Rusty Mathews, Matt Davis, Jeremy Davis, Justin Miller and Cash Miller.
Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews and Steve Sullivan.
Viewing will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw where the family will greet 6 to 8 p.m.
