Edward Dombrow Obituary

Edward James Dombrow Born in Chicago, IL on July 1, 1920 to the late Frank and Jenny Dombrowski, Ed passed peacefully in Redwood City on March 11, 2010 at the age of 89. Husband of Dr. Eileen Dombrow for 34 years. Brother of Helen Bush of Chicago, IL and the late Frank Dombrowski. Ed worked as an industrial chemical engineer 12 years prior to his arriving in Redwood City in 1962. Raised during the depression era, an ethic of hard work and responsibility allowed for the opportunity to relocate to Redwood City. Arriving in California he transferred his MAC Tool franchise from Chicago and then some years later purchased the Cornwell Tool Franchise. More recently Ed was semi retired as an independent, representing tool sales in the greater Bay Area. Honed his skills as philosopher, linguist and as a world traveler, his favorite destinations remained as India and the back roads of America - with India reflecting the closest location on earth to heaven. Ed was a member of the AARP, Fun After Fifty, SIRS, Italian Catholic Federation and Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and served 20+ years as a San Mateo County Polling Inspector. Friends may visit Wednesday, March 17, 2010 after 5:00 pm and are invited to attend a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm at Crippen & Flynn Woodside Chapel, 400 Woodside Road, Redwood City. A Funeral Mass will he held Thursday , March 18 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 300 Fulton St., Redwood City with interment following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Menlo Park.
