George Anthony Dagnino
April 24, 1939 – January 27, 2022
George was born and raised in San Francisco, and lived in Martinez, CA for the remainder of his life. George leaves behind his loving and devoted wife Sara, his children Alex, Fares, Annette and Mark, his daughter-in-laws Sandra, Mary and Delma, his son-in-law Roy, and his grandchildren Anthony, Natalie, Will, Mike, Rose, Jason, Amanda,Victor, Jordone, Alexander and Ashton. Predeceased by sons George and Mike Dagnino and brother Fred Dagnino.
George lived a full and happy life, always ready to share a joke or life story to anyone he met. He was loved and cherished by all who knew him.
He faced his years-long battle of serious medical issues with courage and a smile. He stayed strong until the end despite the pain and handled all his life challenges as a true hero.
George's career spanned an impressive 45 years with Safeway stores. He used his entrepreneurial spirit to help create Safeway's first in-store Deli and Seafood Departments. Quality was always the priority.
George took up his favorite hobby fishing. He was an excellent fisherman, winning several tournaments, including assisting in winning a couple of bass boats.
George was a true sportsman. He had a vast knowledge of anything to do with any and all sports.
Family was very important and special to George. His true enjoyment was spending time with all of his grandchildren.
He will forever be loved and missed.

My husband Richard was a Produce Manager for 58 years at Safeway and friends with George and I remember George always smiling and I am sorry for your loss. This will be hard for the entire family as we lost Richard December 2020 so I know your sadness!
