Eddie was a wonderful husband, father, grand-father, and great grandfather. His family meant everything to him. I was lucky enough to be his friend and running buddy, and his kindness and generosity was made even more evident by his innate ability to be the first to offer to help without ever waiting to be asked. The light he left behind will be reflected long into the future by those he touched. Requiem aeternam dona ei. Et lux perpetua luceat ei. Requiescat in pace.

Uncle Eddie was a great many things. He was the best boatsman, he was teacher, a role model, a smiling face no matter how long it had been, a great ear to listen to what you have been up to since you last saw each other, but above all that he was just kind.

Uncle Eddie had a great ability to notice those who needed him and always took up the challenge to do so. He had a great way of noticing one´s potential even when no one else did. He was happy to take them under his wing and give them a proper role model and the encouragement they needed to excel at whatever lesson he was teaching them.

As a kid he put me in that backyard pool and taught me how to swim. I was doggy paddling for my little life but he was patient and I had it nailed by the end of the lesson. That was just a small thing and no brainer to him. To me though it meant allot to a little kid without a father figure in the picture. To have someone take an interest in you and give you a little life skill was everything.

He did that for so many and made so many feel loved and that they mattered.
That was his special gift as a person and when these moments became memories he may have forgotten they will continue on in the hearts and memories of those he gave his time and kindness to.
