Greg was one of my earliest and best friends at St. Gabes and he comes up in my mind all the time. We played one-on-one basketball at the long-departed Ulloa school yard, I don't think I beat him once. To this day he remains the best athlete I ever knew personally. But what I remember best is the way he laughed, how funny he was, such a totally different character and one of the bright-spot memories of my childhood. I also remember hanging out at his house on 41st with Matt, Ann-Marie, Pete, and Greg's Parents. Such sad news to hear of his passing, but the memory is unfazed.

Greg was All City in Baseball for 3 years and could have been All City in Football and Basketball. He could run, jump and was an excellent competitor. However, my favorite memories is our friendship that started in Grammer School. We played in so many games, together. He was a Great Friend. He was so loyal to his friends and loved to laugh. For his entire life he was so down to earth. He never needed fancy cars or jewelry. He was Greg Sikora. He will be missed by all. To Agnes, Pete, Ann Marie, and Family our hearts go out to you. God Bless you. Greg was the Best. We love him and we thank him. May God Bless, Greg Sikora.

Great memories of one of my many idols growing up in the Sunset. Hanging out with Greg and the boys in the Sunset was unbelievable.....to say the least!! I remember he hit a ball so far at West Sunset that I truly believe it has not landed. It was a pleasure to grow up and hang with you Greg. I am actually laughing as I'm writing. Yes, you could make anyone laugh at anytime....Dan Ferretti

Greg was one of the truly memorable characters from my childhood. At times, he seemed almost larger than life. And while many knew of him, I believe that few knew him well. He served as Best Man at my wedding and, 25 years later, I was lucky enough to return the favor. I can't think of South Sunset playground, Fleishacker's pool, The Zoo, Parkside Theater, or nearly any other place in The Avenues without Greg being in the picture and always playing a BIG role in the action. You left us too soon Greg, but you will not be forgotten. My condolences to Mrs. Sikora, Pete, and Anne Marie.

Greg was the most kindest laid back person one could know. I've had the pleasure of working with Greg on a daily basis for the last 3 and a half years and not once did i find him angry, down or unpleasant to be around. Since his departure i truly feel like somethings really missing everytime i go to work. I just want to thank Greg for just being a great friend and being the stand up man he was. We miss you bud and god bless you.

Greg was THE GREATEST friend and teammate I ever had. We loved baseball and played throughout The City with bats and grips in hand, but our stomping grounds were in the Avenues and Parks of the Sunset. I remember laughing and dreaming in the cold fog and wind all the way to the ballpark. The City Championship of '69' at Lincoln High School was a special time in both our lives and Greg was the Man! I loved that Gentle Giant. I hope when my time comes we will be playing on the same team again. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Greg was THE GREATEST friend and teammate I ever had! We both loved baseball and played throughout The City, but our home field and stomping grounds were on the streets of the Sunset. I don't know how many times we walked togeher with our grips in hand in that cold fog , laughing and dreaming all the way to the ballpark. The city Championship at lincoln in '69' was a special time of our lives and Greg was THE BEST. I hope when my time comes we will be on the same field loving every minute of it. I loved Greg Sikora. Greg will be sorely missed, he was a legend to anyone who grew in his circle. I was fortunate to play baseball with him from midget league all through high school. A man amongst children. He was good in basketball and football as well. Greg chose to work through high school caddying at the esteemed San Francisco Golf Club with lifelong friends, Kevin Paul and Jerry Hansen. Heartfelt condolences to the family, but rest assured Greg is in a safe and peaceful place with Jeannie, Dad , and Matt. Rest well, " Hulk" Terry Smith
